Orenco Community Newsletter

February 2020

Welcome to February!

Can you believe that we have made it halfway though the year?! Hopefully the rain will start to slow down and we can begin to look forward to a beautiful Spring. Our Character Trait this month is "Empathy". We are teaching our students that empathy means the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. We believe that teaching these social emotional skills, along side our academics will make us college and career ready. Thank you for modeling these at home and for partnering with your child's teacher to provide a well-rounded education.

For everyone's safety, please follow traffic guidelines and lawful parking guidelines. Student drop-off is in the back of the building (playground side) for morning arrival. We ask cars to stay clear of bus traffic by approaching the building by using Dogwood to 71st Ave. Be a good neighbor and keep our community safe!

School Newsworthy Dates:

Principal Coffee Chat

Join Principal Combs on Friday, Feb 7th in the cafeteria for a Principal Coffee Chat from 8:15-9 am. Our main topic of conversation will be to inform and gather feedback from parents about the Student Investment Account, money coming to HSD from the Student Success Act. We would like parent input on how to spend the funds for our district.

Booster Club News:
