Message from the Principal 2/17/2022
All students have joined new reading groups and they are off to a great start! Please ask your student about their new group, who is leading it, and what are some of the things that they like about best about it. Encourage your student to practice reading aloud to you! This at-home support and encouragement will definitely help with their reading success!

State Testing Opt Out
State Testing for grades 3-5 is between April 1, 2022 and June 10, 2022. If you would like to Opt your student out please complete the attached form.
SPEED RACERS ARE BACK!!!
We have had an amazing response to the return of our Speed Racer program!
We had 387 students from all grade levels participate in Speed Racers in its first week back!! How exciting!!

Jaime & Ryan Gallagher and Sierra Gray for covering the first week of lunches. Without volunteers, the kids would not have been able to participate this week. They even weathered the downpour on Monday!! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Speed Racers Volunteers Needed
AT THIS TIME Speed Racers is a recess option on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We would love to offer this on Tuesdays and Thursdays but need more volunteers.
Anyone can volunteer! Grandparents! Aunts! Uncles! If you have a family member looking to help our school community please have them complete the volunteer application.
Volunteers Needed! Please email Julie Melton at melton10@gresham.k12.or.us if would like to volunteer or have any questions.
- Volunteers are needed at least one day per week from 11am - 1pm during lunch recess to tally cards as students run/walk laps around the track. Our goal is to offer this recess option to students 5 days per week!
- Volunteers can work in a two-person team.
- There may also be the option to work on some of the prep at home.
- We will be supplying all of the materials, prepped and ready to go at 10:50am at the office window in the vestibule.
All volunteers must have a current, cleared, volunteer application on file with the school district and provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination. Parent Requests for In-District Transfers - Deadline is March 31, 2022
The Gresham-Barlow School District will accept in-district transfer requests for the 2022-2023 school year during the month of March only.
If you live within the Gresham-Barlow district and want your child to attend a Gresham-Barlow school outside of your attendance area, you need to request an in-district transfer. If your student currently has an in-district transfer and is moving from elementary to middle or middle to high, please submit a new request.
A digital transfer request form will be available on the Transfers section of the district website, http://gresham.k12.or.us/Page/2249. The link to this form can also be emailed to you directly if you request it from any GBSD school or district office. Forms must be submitted by March 31, 2022.
You will be notified in writing after review of all requests. Please note: kindergarten and first grade requests may not be decided upon until late summer after elementary registration. For further information, contact the Gresham-Barlow School District Office at 503-261-4575.

If you or someone you know has a student who will be 5 years old by September 1, 2022, and will be attending Hollydale as a kindergartener in the fall please mark your calendar!! We will be hosting a Connect to Kindergarten event Wednesday, April 20, 2022. More details to come.
Immunization Exlcusion Day
Immunization Exclusion Day is April 20, 2022.
Your student(s) should be up to date with any of their required vaccinations by April 20, 2022 in order to remain in school by that date. If your child has recently received their vaccinations, or if you would like to check the status on your child's vaccination record, you can email Jessica Nguyen @ nguyen74@gresham.k12.or.us or feel free to contact the office at (503) 661-6226.
