ELAC Meeting

Dear Parents or Guardians of English Learners,


We would love for you to participate in our fourth and final English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) meeting of the 2022-2023 school year. We will discuss the Parent & Family Engagement Policy and CALPADS/Census Data (see the attached agenda below). We truly value your participation and input.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

In honor of Mental Health Awareness month, the Orange County Department of Education Bullying Prevention Program will be hosting a virtual parent presentation focused on social media trends, information literacy, privacy and security, addressing and reporting cyberbullying, and parent/child communication.


Cyberbullying and Digital Drama: Keeping Kids Safe, Happy, and Healthy in the Digital Age will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. In our ever-changing world with a lot of time being spent on digital devices, it is important to keep the conversation going about what parents can do to support their children in the complex environment of online learning and socializing.

Kids Heart Challenge

Our Kids Heart Challenge is off to a great start, and we are learning how to keep our hearts and minds healthy! We are encouraging all families to learn the steps to Hands-Only CPR through Finn’s Mission. Join our online team and get started today! Plus, it can help us win the Classroom Challenge! Thank you for all your HEART work supporting our school and the American Heart Association!


Next Steps:

  2. Complete Finn’s Mission: Watch a 2-minute video to learn Hands-Only CPR, learn how to spot the warning signs of a stroke, and so much more!

SPECIAL SCHOOL INCENTIVES:

  • The classroom with the most participation (students registered) will receive a BONUS XL Frankie keychain for each student and the teacher will receive an Amazon gift card!
  • Every student who raises $50 will get to Silly String the Principal!
  • Every student who completes Finn’s Mission will get an EXTRA RECESS!
