RCPS Calendar Changes!
As of today, Rockingham County Public Schools have missed eleven school days as a result of inclement weather. According to the approved RCPS calendar, the Superintendent, in consultation with the School Board, will determine make-up days. At this time, we are planning to maintain spring break, April 5 - 9, but we are making some revisions to our current calendar to make up for two of our missed days. The changes are as follows:
Thursday, March 18 - full school day (originally planned as an early release)
Friday, March 19 - full school day (originally planned as division inservice)
Wednesday, March 17 - parent-conferences from 12:00 - 7:00
Thursday, June 10 - full day (originally planned as early release)
If we miss additional school days because of inclement weather, we will make-up these days by attending school on designated Wednesdays to be determined.
Here are the procedures we will be following during this time period and when children return to blended instruction. Please click on the link and read carefully as many policy and practices need to change due to CDC regulations as it relates to COVID 19:

* IF YOU DO NOT WANT THIS FREE FOOD TO BE BROUGHT HOME, PLEASE NOTIFY YOUR CHILD'S TEACHER....
*IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR CHILD EATING BREAKFAST AT SCHOOL-- TELL YOUR CHILD TO NOT TAKE THE MORNING BREAKFAST AND NOTIFY YOUR CHILD'S TEACHER.
While meals are free to all students, if you qualified for free or reduced lunch in the past, we encourage families to fill that form out as your eligibility letter could then be used to qualify for free internet from Comcast or to determine eligibility for free dental care. Here are links to the English and Spanish version of the Free and Reduced Lunch Forms:

Covid Test Requirement:
Moving forward, if employees or students are displaying multiple COVID-like symptoms, and have been advised to have a COVID test, then RCPS will require a PCR (deep nasal swab) negative test result for students and staff to return to school/work without a 10 day "stay at home" period. There are rapid tests, which the results are back within hours, however, they have a much higher false negative rate. Therefore, we will require a PCR negative test result.
SCA Spirit Week:
Next week the SCA will have a different theme for each day. Students and staff are all encouraged to participate.
Monday, December 14th - Hat Day
Tuesday, December 15th - Animal Day
Thursday, December 17th - Winter Holiday
