Health Screenings Begin September 7
TO: Horace Mann Parents/Guardians
FROM: Cara Shell, RN, Horace Mann School Nurse
RE: Health Screenings
Routine health screenings will begin at Horace Mann on Friday, September 7th. The screenings include vision, hearing, height, weight, blood pressure, and scoliosis (5th grade only).
For the scoliosis screening (to determine curvature of the spine), students will be asked to remove their shirts for examination. This will be done privately in the nurse’s office with each student, in the presence of myself and another adult. We will be screening for scoliosis on Wednesday, September 12th.
Results of your child’s screening will be available for you when they are completed if you would like to stop by the nurse’s office. Otherwise, hardcopy results will be sent home by the first week of October.
If you have any questions or concerns about the screenings, please do not hesitate to call Nurse Shell at 562-1974.
Thank you.
Stadium Cleanup Fundraiser
Please join us for this easy fundraiser helping with cleanup at home football games.
This usually takes about 20 minutes and we make roughly $150 per game to help with classroom expenses.
The more families helping, the faster it goes.
If you do not wish to attend the game, we ask that you show up at about 3:30pm to help.
If we don't have family support, we risk losing this helpful opportunity.
Meet at the north end of the visitor’s section at the end of each football game; gloves and trash bags will be provided.
Mark your calendar for our other clean-up dates!
Sat. 9/29/2018 *game starts at 1:30 p.m.
