Message from Ms. Fisher
What an exciting week to be a Pacer!! We started the festivities on Friday with the announcement of our Grand Marshalls for this year, JJ Elske and Joe Schloetter. Congrats to those two amazing Lakeridge staff members who exemplify commitment and Pacer Pride! The students will start the week with our Homecoming Assembly, which will be live streamed into 2nd period classrooms on Monday. We have a Pace Time Schedule that day so students can be introduced to the Homecoming Court Nominees and vote for the two Pacers they think represent the qualities of a Pacer the best. The two Royalty court members will be crowned at halftime at the varsity football game Friday night.
Friday we will have a special early release schedule (linked here) for the students to attend all their classes, lunch and TSCT like a normal day but will be done with 4th period at 1:40 to get to their spot to watch the parade and cheer on the band, dance and cheer, athletic teams, drama, and grade level floats for this year's theme "Back to the Movies." The route this year is down Overlook, through our west parking lot and into the stadium. Students and parents are encouraged to find a spot along the parade path to be apart of the fun. Busses will be leaving campus to take students home from school by 2:30. Car riders should plan to be picked up at that same 2:30 time.
ASB has planned spirit dress up days for each day of the week for the students to show their school spirit!
Monday is Camo Out
Tuesday is Grade level Colors (12th: Pacer Blue, 11th: Red, 10th: Green and 9th: Yellow)
Wednesday is Red/White/Blue Out
Thursday is Jersey Out
Friday is Neon Out
Friday's home varsity football game against Liberty at 7:00 will end our week of Homecoming events.
We have had to postpone the Homecoming dance due to Covid restrictions but we are hoping to reschedule later into October and we will keep you posted on that date change as the school year progresses.
It looks to be an amazing week for our Pacers and I hope each family can participate in each event that makes sense for them. Thanks for your continued support of Lakeridge.
Safety Protocols during the school day!
- Masks are worn during the school day in all classes and between classes by staff and students. These masks are worn over the nose and mouth and pinched snuggly over the nose.
- Students will be strongly encouraged to eat lunches outside and distanced apart while masks are off for active eating. We are purchasing tents to have placed throughout campus for when the wet weather arrives but please come prepared with jackets and layers for the cold days that may sneak up in this fall time. Students who remain inside will be spaced for safety.
- Large gatherings during the day such as assemblies will be postponed or live streamed into classrooms.
- We encouraged families who are concerned with student interactions to reach out to an administrator for clarification on safety mandates and enforcement of such.
