Celebrations
- Thank you to our parent volunteers who helped to set up the new library! We are settling nicely into the new space.
- Thank you to Laurie Robertson for assisting with our Health Screenings last Thursday!
- Our students have made a wonderful start on their MAP assessments this week! This is one of many tools we use to assess our students throughout the year.
Important Reminders
- Ms. Amelia Maia is on leave until next Monday, September 26. Please refer all important queries to Ms. Paige Lewis at plewis@centerforteachingandlearning.com.
- If you have a child in our After-School Program/Care, please park and collect them at 4:15 p.m. from our CTL library. Please arrive promptly for pick-up, as we do not offer After-Care beyond 4:15 p.m.
- We ask that parents who are visiting the school between 7:35 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. do not enter the classroom to interrupt teachers during instructional time. This includes engaging teachers in the hallway each morning, as they are busy helping and preparing students for morning activities. Our teachers are always willing to schedule individual conference meetings outside of instructional time. Email is also a good way to communicate with the teachers.
- If you are interested in volunteering at CTL throughout the school year, we have a new form requirement called DPS Computerized Criminal History (CCH) Verification. Please click on the link to fill this form out or see Ms. Maia at the front office for a copy. This form must be completed and approved before volunteering at CTL.
- Please visit our CTL Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CTL.TheWoodlands/ for regular pictures and updates about what's happening at CTL. Please also visit and join our CTL Parent Council Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/ctlparentcouncil/.
CTL Parent Council & Worker-Bee Wednesdays
- Developing our student playground and gardens
- Library set-up
- Supporting our teachers with general classroom tasks.
Class Shutterfly Webpages
Teacher Shutterfly Webpages:
Beckey Billings ~ Pre-K: billingsprek.shutterfly.com
Stephanie Phipps ~ Grades K-1: ctlk1.shutterfly.com
Lisa Lipar ~ Grades 1-2: mrslipars12class.shutterfly.com
Melanie Smith ~ Grades 3-4: smith3and4ctl.shutterfly.com
Lori Williams ~ Grades 5-8: mrswilliams1617.shutterfly.com
Angela Bailey ~ Grades 5-8: baileyctl.shutterfly.com
Trisha Brandimarte ~ PE/Drama: coachbctl.shutterfly.com
You can access teacher webpages in two ways:
1. Through the website on your desktop computer or laptop.
2. Through the Shutterfly Share Site app on your portable device.
The benefit of downloading the Shutterfly Share Site app is that it allows you to easily check the teacher's website from your phone. If you have children in several classes at CTL, once you become a member of the Shutterfly site via the email sent to you by the teacher, all of your children's teacher's webpages will be listed in one place on the app.
Please note that if you download and use the Shutterfly Share Site app on your phone, it is up to you to turn off notifications within the settings of your phone so you don't consistently receive notifications each time the teacher updates the site. If you do wish to receive notifications each time the site is updated, you can control that option as well. Notification options for the app are not controllable by the teacher.
Enroll in Our After-School Program
Our American Robotics Program is now open to students in Grades 2-8. Any suggestions and requests for Trimester Two offerings are also welcome!

CTL Vision and Mission
CTL Vision
We are dedicated to igniting and growing a LOVE of learning in every child.
CTL Mission
CTL’s primary mission is to foster a love of learning by teaching students to follow their curiosity, to think creatively, and to work both independently and collaboratively. We celebrate diversity and instill integrity, compassion, and confidence in each student. We work in tandem with parents, families, and community members to ensure that each child receives the tools and nurturing needed to become his or her own unique self. CTL provides an intimate, personalized environment tailored to each student’s needs.
