The Freshman Friendly - Team 2022
November 2018
Welcome Parents/Guardians
There are only four and a half weeks left in the 1st semester. Thanksgiving break is Thursday November 22nd and 23rd. The end of the 1st semester is Friday December 21st.
Demetrius Dowler
Assistant Principal Team 2022
Because our students have asked for more time to prepare for exams and to not have four exams on one day, we have created a new schedule that will be implemented this year. ALL students will finish class on Thursday and Friday at 11am and will be dismissed from BHS at this time. Students driving, walking, or riding with a peer/guardian can leave directly at the 11am dismissal, and students riding a bus home will head to their bus at dismissal. Students will have the option of grabbing lunch in the main building cafe prior to leaving. The week of finals will have teacher "Office Hours" available for student support, so please reach out to a specific teacher if your student would to schedule a time.
Final Exam is worth 20% of the semester grade
Dress Code: No hats or hoods are to be worn in the building
Hats, sweatbands, bandanas are not to be worn in the building. Students who wear hooded sweatshirts are not permitted to wear the hoods. Any new "fads" in clothing or anything not specifically covered in the above guidelines, which is considered inappropriate dress shall be dealt with at the discretion of an administrator/designee.
Student Appointments
Please call ahead AS EARLY IN THE DAY AS POSSIBLE if you are picking up a student for an appointment. This will allow us to deliver a pass to our students in plenty of time. All appointment pick-ups as well as drop-offs/late arrivals need to go through door 1.
Parent Meetings
Team 2022 relies on Communication and Relationships to help you and your student feel supported and valued. As we look forward to getting to know you and your student, do not hesitate to request a meeting with a Team 2022 member.
Bathroom Misconduct
We have seen a recent increase in the number of students congregating in the restrooms. When groups of students arrive or meet in the restroom together, misconduct is almost always involved; otherwise, why not meet somewhere else? Even when the motives are innocent, students who congregate in the restroom block sinks/stalls and prevent others from using the facilities. Students who are found to be loitering in the restroom can face disciplinary consequences, so encourage your child not to “hang out” in the bathrooms at school.
Operational Reminders
East Middle School Travel and Schedule
Students that travel to East Middle School in the morning should be ready to load their shuttle bus no later than 7:30 a.m. at door #4. If a student is late to school and their class at the time is at East Middle School, then their ride should drop them off at East Middle School, not BHS.
