Meet our new Dean, Beth Wells!

Greetings Charles Hay World School Community! With a wonderful kickoff to the school year, I am excited for the opportunity to partner with students, staff, families, and the community here. As the Dean of Students, I dedicate my work to keeping students safe, help students problem solve, learn and share my learning, connect with families and help wherever else I am needed.

After starting my education career in Minnesota and Maryland, I moved to Summit County Colorado in 2013. My teaching experience spans from kindergarten through 8th grade. I've always been passionate about connecting with students and figuring out what learning environment connects with them. After completing my Masters of Science in Elementary literacy, I supported Summit Counties six elementary schools in Literacy instruction. During this time I pursued an additional certificate in Educational Leadership. This year, I am looking forward to building relationships with all students, staff and families to support the needs of our community.

SAC/DAC Kick-Off

Please join us for the 2022/2023 School Accountability Committee (SAC), District Accountability Committee (DAC) Kick-Off event. School Accountability Committees and District Accountability Committees are advisory committees made up of parents and community members. These groups have a profound voice in providing input and recommendations to principals, school leaders, and the Board of Education, on an advisory basis. Annually, they review topics such as budget priorities, school performance plans, academic progress, family engagement, and emotional needs of students.

This event is an opportunity to meet with your principal along with district leaders and to learn more about how these committees impact decisions made at the school and district levels.

Participating in these committees is a great way to ensure your voice is at the table while advocating for students.

August Breakfast Menu

August Lunch Menu

Breakfast- Free for all students

Lunches-$3.50

Reminder- UNIVERSAL FREE MEALS HAVE EXPIRED FOR THE 22/23 SCHOOL YEAR. On August, 11, 2022, students will be charged for lunch unless they qualify for free or reduced-price meals. Breakfast will remain free. We are encouraging families to apply for meal benefits for the 2022–2023 school year (before August 11, 2022) to ensure negative balances do not accrue on students' accounts.

By applying and qualifying for free or reduced-price meals students will also be eligible for approved waived fees within the district. It also helps with district funding for student education and grant funding.

Lunch Charge Policy
It is important to us that we feed every student every day. Therefore, we want to remind families that students must have enough money in their account or cash with them to buy a full-price or reduced-price meal.

Students in grades K-6 may charge their account up to three (3) meals after they hit a "zero balance". After they have received the three (3) meals, they will then get up to 10 "Bistro" meals at no cost until they have more money placed in their account. Bistro meals consist of a grain, a protein, fresh fruit or vegetables, milk or water and access to the salad bar. Students in grades 7-12 cannot charge meals, but will receive up to 10 Bistro meals until they have more money in their account or cash in hand to purchase a meal.

COVID Protocols for 2022-2023

Following the lead of public health agencies, Englewood Schools will no longer be tracking COVID cases or symptoms or notifying parents of an exposure. Students who are ill should not come to school, and if a student becomes ill at school, they will be sent home. If a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19, they should stay home from school or work for at least 5 days and then wear a mask while around others for the following 5 days. Use the "How Sick is Too Sick" (here in Spanish) to determine if your child is well enough to come to school.
