Not surprisingly, to become a Mechanical Engineer you have to take lots of Math and Science classes. Calculus and Physics are just a couple of the basic requirements. Some other things you will need to know are computer applications and programming, engineering graphics, and computer-aided design (CAD). Programs can range from an associate's degree to a masters. Income will vary due to there being many different specialized positions, but it is considered above average (8). While it can be very challenging with the amount of school and work, it can also be very rewarding.
