Adamson Children's House
January 11-15 - Weekly Newsletter - Ms. Dana & Ms. Terry
Our first week back at school was a busy one. Our new classmates fit right in and have adapted well to their new classroom routines! This week we will read some new non-fiction books about the winter season and continue our conversation about how different animals adapt to seasonal changes. Our birds have competition! I spied a very fat squirrel squashed into our window feeder over the holiday!
I introduced food preparation work last week. Children can squeeze themselves a glass of fresh orange juice or slice a banana. Both of these activities were highly popular as you can see from the photos. In addition to the food preparation area, I will introduce flower arranging this upcoming week. If you would like to contribute any items for our food prep area or for flower arranging please email me. This week I would love 6 oranges, one bunch bananas and one bunch of inexpensive flowers. This contribution can be used towards your parent participation hours.
This upcoming Wednesday the 13th, is our Parent & Child night. I backpacked flyers home on Friday with your child's time slot. This is an opportunity for your child to show you their favorite activities. I'm looking forward to seeing you then.
With these abnormally warm temperatures we go outside every day to play. That said, it's still cold so please send mittens, a hat and a warm jacket with your child.
Looking ahead... school will be closed on Monday, the 18th for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
