Tiger Strong Reflection
This year, we focused on a specific skill or character trait during our Tiger Strong time each month. You may have noticed the words on the back of their 5k shirts as the ones we have been talking about. These words represent some of the transferrable skills that will help anybody (and everybody) be successful in school and in life. On Tuesday this week, each 3rd/4th/5th grader was asked to choose one of the 9 words that meant the most to them. It could be a word that they value, or are working on improving, or that they are proud of. Sixth graders will do this same exercise next week. Please find time to ask your child to share with you their word and why they chose it. It could be a great conversation starter about what traits you see in them and characteristics that you value.
Everyday at Oak Crest, we are working hard to develop great learners, but more importantly great people! We truly appreciate when our work aligns and supports your work at home.
Happy Friday and Happy Mother's Day to all of you great moms!

TIGER TARGET (May 15-19) : I can be PROUD of others.
We do school together. We get better together, we learn from each other, and we lift each other up. When we see classmates or teammates do well, we should feel pride because we know their story, and we probably helped them be successful. It is good to be proud of others!
May 22-25 : I can take pride in my school.
End of Year Reminders/Updates:
*6th Grade Graduation - 8:45am on May 25th (lasts approximately 1.5-2 hours). Students can be excused after this event, but there will be more fun and celebrations afterwards including a picnic lunch with Kona Ice Truck and our final All School Meeting. We encourage 6th graders to stay the whole day...mostly because we love your kids and want every minute possible with them!
*This summer, we will not send iPads home. We will collect them the last week of school on May 24th. Families are expected to hold onto their charging bricks and cables. You will not receive a new one next year.
*Summer school registration is full. IF you have not registered and want to be on the waiting list please call the office.
