Friday-Sunday:

While you are spending time together, connect what we are learning at school to the real world. Notice and discuss changes in the sky, in the trees, and in the weather. Notice and discuss math in real life situations. Read together. When watching movies, discuss the theme, the life lesson. Notice interesting words and figurative language. Learning isn't meant to be isolated to the classroom. Learning is being engaged in the moment, noticing, wondering, and investigating.

I am learning how to differentiate between conductors and insulators and demonstrate that electricity travels in a closed path, creating a complete circuit.

## Science Vocabulary

• Differentiate: to make a distinction; to show what is different
• Observe: to regard with attention, especially to see or learn something with the senses
• Energy: ability to do work or cause change
• Electrical energy: energy produced from moving electrons

• Electricity: electrical current passing through a conductor such as a wire
• Current: the movement of an electric charge
• Conductor: allows the passage of heat or energy
• Insulator: prevents the transfer of heat or energy
• Electrical circuit: a path through which electricity can flow when closed, but prevents the flow of electricity when open or incomplete
