NES Goals for 2022-2023
Each year, our building sets goals for staff to focus on throughout the year that connect with our district goal and to individual grade level goals. Goals help us stay focused on identified areas throughout the year, give us direction for professional development, and help us measure success. Please review the goals below to better understand our direction this year.
District Goal:
-Norton City Schools will increase the percentage of high school graduates who, one year after graduation will be employed, enlisted, or enrolled.
Building Goals:
-Student Growth is always our number one goal. We aim for all students to grow in academics as well as social emotional skills. Teachers regularly view assessment data to monitor student growth.
-Our second goal calls for the continued implementation of literacy strategies, including developing a better knowledge of dyslexia. We are awaiting final guidance from ODE regarding available training set for "late fall". Our goal is to continue to build strategies to support all students and also stay current with the law.
-Our final goal is to develop a strong understanding and implementation of new math resources. We are excited about the change to the Big Ideas curriculum but understand that it will take intentional effort to fully use this resource.
