The Bethune Bulletin

"To Engage, Inspire and Educate..."

Week of November 16-20, 2015

Core Beliefs

· Our main purpose is to improve student academic achievement.

· Effective instruction makes the most difference in student academic performance.

· There is no excuse for poor quality instruction.

· With our help, at risk students will achieve at the same rate as non-at risk students.

· Staff members must have a commitment to children and a commitment to the pursuit of excellence.

A Message from Ms. Hernandez

As we count down to ACPs with about 15 instructional days left, continue to ensure you are using your student data to target specific skills not mastered. Continue to progress monitor mastery of skills through your daily DOLs. As Mr. Contreras and I continue to conduct spot observations, we will closely monitor your DOLs and look for evidence of how you are adjusting your instruction based on your student data. The big rocks in our campus action plan are to provide a culture of feedback and support that in turn will increase the quality of instruction and student achievement with the help of our parents and community.

Continue to push students to meet those high expectations that you have established with them. Hang in there, we almost have a nice break coming up!
