A Book Fair Note from our Librarian
Families,
Bradley readers are very excited to browse and buy books during next week's Spring Book Fair! We have been sent board books for younger siblings, leveled readers for students flexing their developing skills, picture books, and journals for everyone to enjoy, and chapter books, graphic novels, art books, and awesome non-fiction titles that have really gotten us inspired to read, read, read!
One item that appears in the Literati "Secrets of the Sea" promotional flyer will not be available for purchase however, as I have determined that its content does not meet the standard of what is considered developmentally appropriate for Pre-K through fifth-grade students. The graphic novel "Stranger Things, Kamchatka" includes mature language and violent content that could be difficult and/or frightening for younger readers. The book is available online if you decide to purchase it for yourselves, but it will not be sold by me or our volunteers. I will provide feedback to our Literati representative and the company suggesting that improved content screening practices are necessary for student purchases.
Thank you so much for your understanding. Our volunteers, students and I are looking forward to spending time with you next week as you select great new books to be read now, over spring break, during upcoming travel, birthdays, or for summer reading programs.
Have a great weekend,
