Joining Forces: Blue and Gold Students Reunited!
Message From Ms. Dilks
Please keep in mind that instruction begins at 8:00 AM. We do not have a homeroom period in the morning.
Morning Car Drop Off:
-With the increased car traffic in the morning, you may want to adjust your planned arrival time.
-To assist with the increased traffic, we have placed cones outside in the drop off loop.
-Please have your students exit your vehicle when you pull up between the cones.
-Students should be ready with their belongings to exit your vehicle.
-Please make this process as efficient as possible.
We have also sent important health and safety reminders related to travel during Spring Break. Click here for that communication.
I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable Spring Break.
Grade 7 and 8 Students Create Collaborative Mural Inspired by Project We
Seventh and eighth grade Graphic Design students examined the work of Reyna Noriega, a full- time illlustrator, and created a collaborative mural inspired by her work. For Black History Month, Ms. Noriega partnered with Old Navy to design a -t-shirt for their new project, Project We. Project We is a collection of graphic t-shirts that were created by artists of different cultures, races, and nationalities to promote a more inclusive world through art. Murray Avenue students used Ms. Noriega's t-shirt design as inspiration after learning about Black History Month and created their own uniquely beautiful self-portrait to incorporate into this mural.

What Your Child Needs - Message from Mr. Heiland, Athletic Director
If your student athlete is planning on playing a spring sport, please first make sure he or she is registered on FamilyID.
If you are a new athlete that has not tried out or played a sport this school year, please select Murray Avenue School Spring Athletics 2021 - NEW ATHLETES
If you have a returning athlete from a prior season this year, please select Murray Avenue School Spring Athletics - RECERTIFICATION.
I will begin to go through registrations and either approve or not approve. Either way you will receive a notification from a FamilyID email address, but it is me.
Will there be cuts?
This is always dependent on how many students end up trying out for the team. If we need to cut, then we will but we won't know that until the week that we start based on registrations.
In track we may not make cuts, but we may limit the amount of kids who are able to travel to an away meet, especially this year based on COVID-19 protocols.
How many teams will there be?
Traditionally there is just one team per baseball/softball for the middle school. There are a lot of factors that go into that. That will remain in tact this upcoming spring season.
Do I need to wear a mask?
YES. At this point all of our athletes at the high school are wearing a mask at all times, even when they are competing. The expectation is our Middle School athletes will do the same this spring. If we get better guidance from the state, then we will adjust but at this point we are requiring masks as are all of our opponents.

Foundation Update from Sarah Brodsky:
As we move into Tax Season, we invite you to learn more on how you can decrease your Tax Liability while investing in your school. If you own a business or work for a company in the state of Pennsylvania, now is the time to act. Through Education Tax Improvement Credit Program, businesses can donate up to $750,000 each year to EITC-eligible organizations, and then claim 75 percent of that donation as a credit that offsets their state tax bill.
