Easter
Why do we eat a chocolate egg at Easter?
Why An Easter Egg?
The egg represents new life. In Pagan times , before Christianity took the symbol , the egg was believed to get rid of evil but it also represented life bursting forward just what Spring did after Winter.
When did the tradition start?
The Chocolate Easter Eggs first started in the early 1800's but they were fairly basic with dark chocolate. It wasn't until 1873 that the Easter egg that we have now was produced by Cadbury's.
Why Chocolate?
Chocolate was a good way to mould the eggs or the bunny and people really liked it.
