Arugula Suarez just wants to fit in. But it's not easy when you're a sixteen-year-old alien from the planet Zlagdor. Eagan Academy Fall Session (Credit Recovery)
See counselors or Mr. Thompson if a student would still like to enroll in credit recovery!
Session runs Oct. 6 - Nov. 17, 2021
We started on October 6 in room 232—this session goes for 6 weeks. Students will be in person 1 day a week (Wednesdays) for additional support. Attendance is “expected” until the student finishes the course.
Weekend Food Program
Every Meal Weekend Food program is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization with a mission to fight child hunger through community and school partnerships. There are no qualification requirements for enrollment and families may enroll in the program at any time throughout the school year. The program is free for all families and your privacy is protected. Families may choose from five options structured around the USDA MyPlate Standards. All bag types contain 4-5 pounds of nutritious, non-perishable food, including a variety of fruits, vegetables, proteins, grains and soups/entrees. Meal bags are discreetly sent home with students weekly and can be picked up in the EHS Counseling Office. See the link below for more information and to order electronically.
Free Student Meals
Students in District 196 will be provided breakfast and lunch at no cost during the 2021-22 school year due to a grant provided by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. All families are still encouraged to complete an Educational Benefits Application, formerly the free and reduced-price meals application. A new application must be submitted each year.
If a student wishes to purchase an a la carte item or a second lunch, they must have money loaded into their meal account or have cash in hand.
Freshman Retreat
On Tuesday, December 14, 2021 we invite all 9th grade students to attend the Freshman “Respect” Retreat. The goal of this retreat is to build a unified class, where students will work together to examine the issues of self-respect, respecting others and standing up for the value of respect. This retreat will give students an opportunity to build relationships with students that they may not otherwise meet.
Please register via myPaymentsplus for this retreat: https://ehs.district196.org/families
The cost is $25.00. Students receiving free lunch will automatically receive a scholarship when checking out.
Please contact the Counseling Office with any questions. Thank you!
