Important Announcement Concerning March 19, 2020
RECHS Students and Parents,
As you heard Tuesday with Dr. Gainey's message, we will have distribution day on Thursday, March 19th from 7:30am to 6:30pm for students to pick up textbooks and instructional materials. This will take place in the gym. Please enter and exit through the outside gym door on the car rider side.
Our teachers have been working incredibly hard to prepare meaningful assignments so that our Early College students can continue their education during this crisis. Please listen carefully to these details. Teachers have communicated with students via email about the delivery method of assignments. Most assignments from RECHS teachers will be sent via email and/or Canvas. Teachers have prepared paper versions of assignments upon student request. Students, please check your email if you have not done so in order to communicate with your teacher. If you do not have computer/internet access for assignment completion, this is especially important so that teachers can prepare your paper copies.
In regards to Thursday's distribution day, all students who have requested a paper version of assignments can pick those up then. All of Ms. Saltzer's Math 2 students have a packet of assignments that needs to be picked up on Thursday. Ms. Davidson's biology students need to get a biology textbook and assignment packet. Any English 1, 2, or 3 student who has contacted their teacher requesting a copy of their class novel can pick up a print copy if they prefer that to the digital version.
Again, not all RECHS students need to come to distribution day. This greatly depends upon the course in which they are enrolled. Students must check their email and communicate individually with their teachers.
Thank you all as we get through this trying time together.
Thank you,
Shea Setzer Grosch

To Parents of Juniors
Effective in the 2020-2021 school year, two doses of meningococcal conjugate vaccine are
required for North Carolina students. One dose is required for individuals entering
the seventh grade or by 12 years of age. The second booster dose is required for
individuals entering the 12th grade or by 17 years of age, whichever comes first.
The requirement for the second dose is new. This information is being shared with
you now so you can make plans to have your student vaccinated prior to the start
of the 2020-2021 school year. If you have questions regarding this new
requirement, please feel free to call our school nurse, Monica Hurley, at 336-625-1137.
