AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
Florence Falcon Fishing Team won a place in the ASABFA State Championship Tournament.
Our fishing team did a fantastic job this year and in the final regional competition held on Pickwick Lake, they placed 4th out of 30 other teams from across the state. Their great finish ensured their spot in the Alabama Student Angler Bass Fishing Association's State Classic which was held on Eufaula Lake on May 5 and May 6. It was a great experience for our anglers and we are so proud of their accomplishments!
Bailey Sims Awarded Evan Isbell Memorial Scholarship
Bailey Sims was awarded the Evan Isbell Memorial Scholarship at the pre-tournament meeting. She completed a stringent application process which included a 1000 word essay and letters of recommendation to be considered for $1,500 scholarship dedicated to post-secondary education. The FHS Fishing Team sponsor, Mrs. Pam Blasingame, said, "It made me so happy to see her walk across the stage knowing 42 more teams who made it to the state tournament were in attendance." Importance Attendance Reminders
- Students are assigned to one Saturday School or to four days of Tardy Boost Time (Students must report to Tardy Boost Time instead of deciding how they want to use their time) for 5 tardies to any class. (Each assignment is an equivalent of four hours.)
It is your responsibility to get a pre-arranged absence form for taking your permit or license test. The receipts from the DMV are NOT an excuse no matter what the DMV tells you.
Students late for school must "check-in" in the attendance office.
Students called to "check-out" must sign out in the attendance office.
Parents must call and talk to Ms. Jay if student is not returning from dual or off campus periods. (Not doing so will cause period absences in which students will be written up for skipping.)
Pre-Approved absences are coded as parent notes.
Parents may write 5 notes per semester in order to have absences coded as excused as long as the note meets the criteria of an excused absence.

Parking Passes for 2017-18
All students parking on the FHS campus must buy a parking pass. It is very important for all students to have a parking pass and to park in their assigned spaces. Students without parking passes or parking in other students' parking spaces may have their vehicles towed at any time. Students must complete the parking permit form, have a valid driver's license, have proof of insurance and have all fees paid. The cost of the parking pass is $15.00. Parking passes will be available for purchase before the new year begins. Notification will be sent via call out.
