Red Scare: The Sacco and Vanzetti Case
Communism was a new political thinking that is used by some of China, all of Russia and North Korea. People were afraid because they were already used to democracy and didn't like communism. They had the mo feet that communism would take over and get rid of their Capitol that they built.
Automobile I: The Life and Times of Henry Ford
Henry Ford developed a way for us to drive ourselves where we want to go and e also made making cars faster and cheaper. He made the assembly line which made car building more efficient, which we still use today. He also made the cars cheaper and more affordable to the general public so most of the public could have one.
Automobile II: The new world of Automibility
The car changed society and how they got everywhere. Most had to walk up until Henry For made his cars more affordable. Now everyone drives places they need to go like today.
The Mass Media: Radio
The radio made a new marketing option in the early 1920s.
NBC and CBS took advantage and made the biggest broadcasting stations of that time. They constantly competed and made the economy boom. One of the reasons for the roaring twenties.
The Mass Media: The birth of movies and movie stars
The entertainment market was booming an finally taking off. Movies and tv shows were quickly becoming popular. The public started to watch and enjoy these movies enough to grow favorites between actors.
Changing Role of Women
Women wanted equality through all of history and many suffrage happened for them.Women wanted to be able to work and not be stuck at home with the kids. They also wanted to get paid for their work as well as be involved with war.
Evolution and the Scopes Trial
Religion and science contradicted each other. They would disagree on everything and people had to choose which one was right. People clashed and wars were made about this.
Fighting Racism
Black people were very isolated even though slavery was thought to be gone. They were discriminated within jobs and normal life. Groups formed to protest and make new laws against racism and discrimination.
Jazz Age I
The Harlem Renaissance played a very critical role for jazz music. The Renaissance was a time where black writers and musicians thrived. The various styles of music were very popular and are still adored today.
Jazz Age II
Luca Marenzio was an Italian writer and composer during the Renaissance. He was the reason of the Madrigals and some late stage renaissance music. Marenzio joined the renaissance late.
Painters of the Harlem Renaissance
Michelangelo is one of the greatest painter known to man even though he made most his work during the renaissance. He made very beautiful works of arts throughout his life. A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle was named after him.
Poets of the Harlem Renaissance
The most known poet from the renaissance is most likely Langston Hughes. He had written to pass time and wrote about his childhood or the childhood of others. Hughes contributed many famous works of literature that our generation still learns from.
Heroes of American Aviation
Amelia Earhart was one of the females who strived in aviation. She was the first woman to fly a plane across the Atlantic ocean successfully. At the time women were not seen as important as men and Earhart wanted to prove them wrong.
American Sports
Baseball was becoming one of the most known and popular sports back then as football is today. During the 1919 world series some Black Sox players decide to throw the game to Reds for money from gamblers. The players suspected of taking part in the scandal were banned from Baseball.
Organized Crime
Al Capone was known as an American gangster. He owned the Chicago Outfit and was a crime boss until he was 33. He was a legacy and was carried on throughout many other mob bosses and crime bots.
Racism and Nativism in the 20s
The Ku Klux Klan was an all white racist group that thought if you were not white you should be dead or tortured. They would go around and hassle colored people and sometimes burn their property. They would wear all white and have pointy hats on with only their eyes showing.
Immigration Restriction
The Immigration law of 1924 limited aliens or immigrants in the US through a nations quota. They wanted to limit the people entering after World War I and make sure it was not another attack. They gave out literacy test and other test to make sure everyone entering were harmless. The main purpose of the 1924 Immigration Act was to preserve the ideal of U.S. homogeneity.
