Hello Mustangs!
It has been a wonderful week at Midway! We want to thank all the parents for your support with our student-led conferences. Our fifth graders will be participating next week. We are so proud of our students as they become advocates for their learning by being able to discuss their own strengths, goals, and processes of learning. It is so powerful to see students talk about what strategy they use to solve a math problem or read a difficult text. Sharing student data notebooks encourages higher order and creative thinking as well as motivation, personal pride, and a sense of accomplishment. We have definitely seen those smiles from our Mustangs. At Midway, we are working on educating the whole child with academics, fine arts, and character skills.
Thank you to all of our parents that brought in items for our teachers for the Staff Appreciation Luncheon. We are so lucky to have such supportive families. Your generosity is greatly appreciated to help make this event successful and enjoyed by all.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! If you haven't planned anything, reading a book with your child is always a great option.
Yours truly,
Christy Graham, Assistant Principal of Midway Elementary

COLLECTING OLD SHOES: 5th Grade Spring Service Project
Our 5th-grade spring service project is to collect old shoes. So clean out your closets and start looking under your beds for gently used shoes and turn them in to your child’s teacher or one of our collection boxes in the halls. Every pair you recycle means extra funds for CampMates, less landfill waste and the potential to connect us to a SoleMate! We are collecting shoes through the end of the school year.
