Harris ES
Notes from Erin
I continue to enjoy meeting with you all in small groups and individually. Thank you for taking the time to do this. I am sorry I am not out and about in classrooms more, but I will be as soon as the meeting schedule slows down a bit. This has been an invaluable way for me to get to know you all and the Harris culture. "Family" is certainly the word that comes up most often in describing the culture. Thank you for making me feel like a part of your family.
A huge THANK YOU to the PTA for the Hot Chocolate Bar and Supply Swap this morning in the Berry Room. Please stop by after 7:30 AM Monday morning for some treats!
Safety and Security Update: The Safety and Security Team met last week to review your feedback and identify the critical issues moving forward. Thank you for your feedback! A portion of the February 15th Teacher Workday will be spent practicing some of the emergency procedures.
Redistricting:
We will meet as a faculty Wednesday morning at 7:50 AM in the cafeteria to receive information from Human Resources about redistricting and the impact this will have on us.
Spirit Wear:
Several questions have come up about spirit wear. It is fine to wear any Harris or Duluth shirt with "professional" jeans on Fridays. The shirt can be a collared shirt or a t-shirt; as long as it is spirit wear I have no preference. I believe you can still look professional in spirit wear. Please let me know if you have questions about my expectations.
Preference Forms:
Thanks to everyone who has submitted their preference forms. There are a couple still out there. Please submit these by Monday afternoon to Alma.
Attendance/Coverage:
If you are out for any reason, please submit your time into the Leave system. It has been challenging to arrange coverage with no stellar sub, and we appreciate your patience. The ILT will be reviewing the procedures around coverage and absences.
Georgia School Personnel Survey
Lower Building Staff please attend Feb. 16th. Upper Building Staff please attend Feb. 18th. I know the description says 75% of staff, but I am slightly competitive, so my goal is 100%. All those completing the survey will get a "Jeans Pass".
