4th Grade - 40 Book Challenge Update
Fourth-graders have been encouraged this school year to read at least 40 books, representing various genres (poetry, traditional literature, realistic fiction, historical fiction, fantasy, science fiction, mystery, informational nonfiction, and biography/autobiography/memoir.
Students who have completed the 40-Book Challenge are featured on a bulletin board in the main hallway. Congratulations to these fourth-graders: Sethu, Anirudh, Suhani, Pavan, Ishita, Iniya, Timi, Sadaf and Aditi!
We’ve got a few more who are close to finishing the challenge. We are proud of all of our fourth-graders, who are stretching themselves as readers and scholars and who are increasing their stamina, confidence and critical-thinking skills.
Michelle Chapa, ESL Teacher
Michelle was born and raised in Michigan, but has now lived in Texas longer than her childhood and has lived in Frisco for 14 years. She's also been married 14 years and has two children - Nathan who's in 3rd grade at Nichols and Madelynn who's in 6th grade at Pioneer - plus a little white dog named Otis. In her free time, Michelle likes to spend time with her family, read and craft.
"I love working with our students at Hosp!" says Michelle.
Artists at Work in Mrs. London's Room
Creativity is illuminating from the art room this past month. Students K-5th are learning clay techniques such as how to make a pinch pot monster, coil pot, owl, bowl, and how a kiln is used. Ask your students all about what they've been learning!
