November Update
Welcome to another month of Medical Interventions!
We are currently about to finish up our unit over hearing loss and then move into vaccines. So far with hearing, we have learned how hearing works, the two types of hearing loss, the tests to diagnose hearing loss and now we are finishing up with interventions to correct hearing loss. We will do a short quiz over the ear and then move into vaccines.
With vaccines, we will cover the vaccination schedule that is put out by the CDC, the controversy of vaccinations, the different types and the role of epidemiologists. At the end of November, we will get into genetic disorders. Students will play the role of a genetic counselor and this will lead us into the kids testing their own DNA!
Check out the pictures below from our creation of a superbug bacteria lab and our visit from two Audiologists who brought in some cool tools that they use!
