Staff Notes:
- Winter Benchmarking Notes: iStation scores will be shared with the state for legislative purposes - just know that. We will need all iPads, laptops, all carts, all headphones in the empty lab on Monday to charge/prepare machines (Kinder iStation is Monday morning so they need iPads ready to roll that morning). We are scrambling to set up all the new laptops that just arrived today to use in time for Tuesday morning test. Donna is creating one list of all the kids who are suppose to have designated supports/accommodations. She will have that ready Monday. Then, Classroom Teachers MUST put those into MAP (all Grades 3-5 teachers) and all interventionists who are testing kids so the embedded things are ready to go come Tuesday morning. If you need help, ask! We are practicing just how we will plan to do SBAC as well so be sure you have created your test sessions and are setting things up. All laptop carts and all headphones will be gathered into the empty lab on Monday to prepare them and ensure they are charged up! We will deliver to your rooms either after school Monday or first thing Tuesday morning.
- 2nd Grade Teacher Update: This email was sent to staff on 1/13/20: To the parent(s) of Ms. Montoya's students and the BRMES Staff, I am happy to announce that the interview team has made a recommendation to the McCall Donnelly School Board to hire Mrs. Beckie Wayne as our new 2nd grade teacher. Mrs. Wayne has been a regular subtitute in our school for years and is currently our PTA President. She is excited to join our team as a staff member and will be working with Mrs. Hulbert in the class this week. Mrs. Wayne will take over the classroom full time this Thursday, January 16th. Thank you for your continued support, and welcome Mrs. Wayne!
- Report Card Deadlines: Jan. 21 is your work day from 10:00-3:30 to work on grades and report cards. Report cards will be sent home with students on Jan. 22, 23, or 24.
- 2nd Observations: Many of you love to get these out of the way. If you are doing some fun, crazy, or just want me to come observe for a specific lesson/time, send me your date/time and I'll see if I can make it work. Otherwise, I am aiming to get going again with the final #2 round of observations!
- Advisory Notes: Thank you for all the feedback! I heard from EVERY team!
- Music Programs for your Grade Level: The ideas shared with parents was reviewed at Advisory Team again this week. Be sure each grade level team is working on a plan with Traci/Tyler so it can be a joint effort and not fall on any one individual.
- 4th & 5th Grades Honor Choir: Mr. Vance and a group of selected students will be practicing during the next couple of weeks to prepare for their performance in Boise/Nampa on January 31st! Hopefully we will get an opportunity to hear them perform for us too!
- Master Teacher Premiums: Word is they will continue. Everyone from our building who submitted/qualified got earned a stipend this past fall. If you will be elgible or have questions/want to consider doing it during this next round; I suggest you talk to those in our building who are now our experts and go it in year 1....ask me if you need a name...
- FREE Masters Program, anyone?: I have information for another cohort through Boise State to apply for a free scholarship to earn your English Language Masters....Tenaya is in this year's cohort and would be a great expert to consult with how it work...it is all online and I can share the information I got if anyone is interested.
- Idaho Sled Dogs: See Brandi if you want to get your class involved in something and/or check their website for specifics.
- Science: The district is on track to adopt a new science curriculum for the 20-21 school year. Watch the staff lounge for samples of curriculum being considered.
- 21-22 Calendar: See it here (or in eBinder/General Building Docs)
- Winter Carnival 'Sculpture Entry': We have entered and will be a stop in the official carnival book. See map here! We are going to ask each class to try to fill plastic containers/balloons/whatever you wish to make ice chunks then build them/stack them together. You will see a cart in the lounge to bring in and collect recycled containers that could work to freeze with water in them as well as photos of what we will 'try' to create out front.
Your staff Christmas gift to me was.....well....simply over the top {and yep, of course I cried}. I can't wait to use it all up at Shore Lodge on movie and date nights, The Cove, maybe a drink or two and of course in the store! Thank you so very much for a very generous gift.
Look at our BLOOMERS!
