SEL News from the desk of Amy Argubright
Hi! I am Amy Argubright, your Social Emotional Learning (SEL) specialist at CMS! I am a part of a districtwide team that supports the social-emotional needs and mental health of students, teachers, and families in GISD. I will be providing weekly newsletter links with information about SEL, including valuable resources and activities that you can use to promote well-being at home and in the classroom. This week, we'll define what SEL is and why it's important. "I look forward to working with the students, staff, and parents at CMS!
We have MAP testing this week which will help teachers with content areas of concern with students. We will use this data to determine lessons, interventions, and methods to ensure students' gaps are covered.
Please get a good night's sleep and bring Chromebooks fully charged.
We recommend our 7th & 8th grade high achieving students consider taking the ACT after they turn 13. Students who take the ACT qualify for more scholarships, stand out on college applications, and uncover career path insights.
Taking the ACT several times during high school can provide an advantage, most re-testers increase their score! Plus, when you retake the test, ACT will use the best subject scores from all your student's attempts to create a superscore!
Help your child seize their potential. Register today and then use official ACT test prep to get ready!
