Updates from Instructional Technology
Spring Updates
- Technology Steering Committee (TSC) Subcommittee: A big thank you goes out to Deb P., Barbara H., Elizabeth H., Mary S., Vicki K., and Courtney W. for volunteering to join the TSC New Technologies Subcommittee! This subcommittee will assist the district in evaluating new technologies and planning our next steps as we move forward with technology.
- Interactive Whiteboard Demos: Thank you to all of those who took time out of their day to attend the interactive whiteboard demonstrations and to fill out the surveys. This information will assist the district in determining what our "next steps" are as far as technology goes.
- End of Year Procedures: This year has flown by extremely fast! I can't believe it's already time for End of Year procedures! Information about End of Year procedures is available here.
- Digital Badges: Beginning with the 2016-2017 school year, RFISD teachers and staff will be have the chance to showcase their Instructional Technology use by earning "digital badges" which can be showcased on websites, business cards, in the classroom, or on their doors. More information will be sent out in August.
- Summer: Have a wonderful and safe summer! See you in the fall!

Cyrano de Bergerac which references the term "catfishing" or creating a fake persona and pretending to be that persona.
As part of their final project, students have the option to create a profile for an “online social media platform” which may suggest who they are, who they would like to be rather than who they are, or a fictionalized persona.
The student work turned out amazing! Thank you Mrs. Colglazier--this was definitely a project students will remember!
