Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Dear Parents,
We are reaching out to you to share the most recent information we have received regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) from the McHenry Department of Public Health. The risk continues to remain low in our county for COVID-19 and our health department is monitoring this fluid situation very closely and providing our district with new or updated guidance as it becomes available. We are following the school preparedness guidelines outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Illinois Department of Public health.
As with any respiratory virus, students and school personnel can protect themselves and others by taking every day common-sense actions:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cough or sneeze into your elbow area, not your hands, or cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
Currently, the Illinois Department of Public Health does NOT recommend:
- the use of masks or gloves
- cancelling mass gatherings
- cancelling classes
We will continue to follow guidance from the county and state health departments and will share important information with you as it becomes available.
For updated information and frequently asked questions, visit the health department website at www.mcdh.info.

Middle School Dismissal
After 2 trimesters of the new dismissal procedure, we are pleased with how efficient dismissal has become. As we continue to keep safety as our number one priority, we ask that everyone who is picking their child(ren) up after school, please be sure you are using the planned pick up lines. Do not pick your child up from the front parking lot or in front of the Grand Avenue entrance. Any cars who are parked in the small back lot, next to the parish center, will have to wait until dismissal is complete to exit the lot. Thank you for you assistance in this matter and keeping all of our children safe!
