Dear Washington Families,
We hope you are all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Since the start of the school year, our students have been filling their days with fun and engaging lessons. Our physical education classes just completed the tumbling unit. We have been filling our days learning various tumbling skills such as balances, jumps, forward rolls, cartwheels, round-offs, and partner/group balances. Starting next week, we will begin our inline skating unit. The inline skating unit for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will begin Monday, December 3rd and continue through Friday, December 14th. We encourage our students to bring their own equipment to use throughout the unit. The equipment needed includes inline skates, wrist guards, elbow pads, knee pads, and a helmet. Students should wear tall socks to protect their legs. For those students who not not have their own equipment, it will be provided. Students are encouraged to bring their own helmets. If a student does not own a helmet, the PE department will have a limited number of loaner helmets available. Helmets will not be shared from student to student.
As always, please make sure your child has their gym shoes on or that they keep an extra pair of gym shoes in their locker. If you would like to see what's happening in your child's physical education class at Washington, follow us on Twitter!
