Go to the area of the room designated for your perspective

- From my perspective, this is important because...
Meet with someone of a different perspective and discuss each other's response to the quote.
Meet with one more person of a different perspective and discuss each other's response to the quote.
When you have met with two people with two different perspectives, return to your table.
Key Pieces of Effective PD
“Professional development can no longer just be about exposing teachers to a concept or providing basic knowledge about a teaching methodology. Instead, professional development in an era of accountability requires a change in a teacher’s practice that leads to increases in student learning.”
Final Reflection:
Nested Process
- Content:
WHAT is most important to be taught during the lesson. Content area or field of
expertise is incorporated. No substitution for providing a depth of knowledge. Good
teachers know that what they teach is only part of their job. Planning begins here!
- Process:
HOW will this lesson be taught? The process of teaching can make or break the
success of the lesson. What strategies will be used to best get the message to my
audience? How will I differentiate my approach to meet differing learner needs?
- Context
WHY is this lesson important? Learners must know why the learning is important.
WIIFM – What’s in it for me? Is the learning environment set up to meet my needs?
Teaching starts here!
