No Gum
We have had lots of issues with students and their gum lately. We are finding chewed up gum in places it should not be.
We are only allowing gum in the classrooms...and only if you have permission from that teacher.
No gum chewing allowed in other areas of the building (ie...halls, gyms, library, etc.)
All help is appreciated.

Student Cell Phone Policy
In accordance with DISD Cell Phone Policies, (student handbook pg. 66 -67), students are expected to refrain from using cell phones during the academic day. They may be used before or after school only. If you need to contact your student during the school day please contact our front office at 940-369-3300.

Chromebooks and Chromebook cases
We will be handing out Chromebooks to students in the next week or so. We will start with 8th graders, then 7th graders, and then 6th graders.
We are allowing a Chromebook case/bag for kiddos to carry Chromebooks in the halls and to classes.
- Chromebook bags can have small pocket or two and can have a carrying handle and/or a shoulder strap if you wish.
- Be sure the Chromebook case/bag is about the same size as the Chromebook itself. See picture for an example (Chromebook cases/bags may vary slightly from this example)
- Chromebooks are 12 x 8.19 inches.
- The model is Dell Chromebook 3100 2-n-1.
Additionally, we are not allowing Chromebooks to be in the cafe during lunches. They must be stored in lockers during lunch time.
Remember, we are not allowing backpacks (or draw string backpacks) in the classroom. Cellphones and wireless earbuds must be stored in student lockers during the school day.
*Wired headphones may only be used in the class with teacher permission*

Please be sure to reach out to your kiddo's teachers if you have any questions.
Cafeteria Expectations
We have noticed that some of our kiddos have been more rowdy in the café lately.
- Because of this, I met with each grade level today to reiterate how students should act in the café.
We wanted to share these expectations with families as well.
- Here is the link to what was shared.
Parents, can you please speak with your kiddo(s) and remind them to follow these expectations and to always do the right thing?
In addition, we are considering ways to limit the rowdiness as well, such as assigned seats, silent lunches, etc...
Please and thank you,
Dr. D
Tardy Sweeps
A tardy sweep means that if a kiddo is still in the hall when the tardy bell rings each period (without permission) they will be given an after school detention.
You can find the tardy sweep information and much more info in the McMath Student Handbook found in the 'Campus Information' tab on the McMath Webpage. Click here for the link.
Lastly...I have included the regular Tardy Procedure in the attached picture as well for reference.
