Cloverdale Elementary News
October 4,2021
Principal's Den
Welcome to October! We continue celebrating the accomplishments of our Hispanic Community during Hispanic History Month. October is also known as Down Syndrome Awareness month and Dyslexia Awareness month. The closing of October will mark the end of our first trimester. If you have any concerns regarding your student's academic progress please make sure to contact your child's teacher. There are different interventions and possible tutoring options to help your students.
Attendance is always very important for student academic success. Please continue to have students wear their mask whenever possible, wash their hands frequently, and avoid physical contact. Any covid-like symptoms will cause students to miss time from school. We will have packets available for students during their stay at home.
Our PTA will once again soon be selling Cloverdale gear. They will also be opening our Student Store this Friday where students can exchange their lion pride tickets for great prizes.
Please continue to follow all safety recommendations concerning Covid. If you are sick, experiencing any covid symptoms, or have been exposed to someone at home that has tested positive, it is very important that you remain home until you are feeling better. If you experience any covid-like symptoms please stay home and let us know. You will be asked to remain home and test on or after the 5th day, or you may choose to isolate for ten days and you no longer experience symptoms. If you have any questions, please contact our school office for assistance.
Let's make this our best year and as always, let's strive to be LEADERS BY EXAMPLE!
Thank you,
At Cloverdale we strive to be Leaders by Example. As I mention to our students during announcements, this means that we always try to do the right thing even when no one is looking.
As part of our school's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS), we also learn to ROAR. This is a matrix that exemplifies our core values of being Respectful, Organized, Accountable, and Responsible.
Our goal is to be college ready once we graduate from High School and that starts today!
Sincerely,
Genaro García
Principal
