The Riviera Press
Issue 18: Week of April 12-16
sga elections 2021-2022
On the week of March 22-26, candidates campaigned for Riviera’s 2021-2022 student government. These candidates put in rigorous amounts of work to campaign. Students really went the extra mile in their campaigns, making stickers, lanyards, water bottles and sanitizers. The candidates were very creative when trying to get their names out for the vote!
All posters were put up in the cafetorium for middle and high school students to see during their lunch periods! On Thursday, March 25th, students on campus and online watched candidates' speeches during their study hall periods and shortly after students were able to vote. After having a tie for the vice president and treasurer positions, a runoff was held when returning back from spring break. We are so proud of all our candidates for their hard work! Congratulations to our 2021-2022 student government executive board!

The Class of 2022 put a ring on it
This past Tuesday, the Class of 2022 gathered on the field to attend the Junior Ring Ceremony! The Ring Ceremony is a tradition in which juniors gather to receive their junior rings and get ready to begin their senior year. The junior class arrived during the golden hour of the day and settled in socially distanced seating on the field to begin the ceremony. Each junior was called up individually to the stage to receive their ring and pose for a photo with Mr. Cohen and Mr. Snay. As the year comes to a close, we look forward to the Class of 2022’s reign as seniors next year!

Summer at the Riv
Spring is here, which means that summer is quickly approaching! Riviera is once again offering enriching summer school programs for students to get ahead on their coursework and complete certain prerequisite classes. Our summer school program provides the opportunity for our students to take a foreign language; advance their required math, science, or history courses; or even complete required writing classes. Summer school allows students the availability in their schedules to take a more creative or diverse elective class during the academic school year. This year, our summer school program will be available to all students either on campus or online. Do not hesitate to sign up and get ahead on the required coursework. For more information on available courses or how to pair summer school offerings with Riviera Summer Camp, please contact Ms. Marie Castellanos at mariecastellanos@rivieraschools.com.
