Principal's Post - A Weekly Note From Mr. Ortman
Happy Friday,
Just a friendly reminder about cell phones. It is a parent's decision whether their child is allowed to bring his or her phone to school. Our school expectation is that cell phones are to be kept in backpacks during the school day, including arrival and dismissal. The only exception to this rule would be if teachers direct students to use cell phones for an educational purpose. Since cell phones are to be in backpacks during the day, students should not be on any social media during the school day. If you could reinforce this message at home it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Shawn M. Ortman
Principal
Community Connections
Dear Mill Creek Elementary School Families,
Please join me in the Mill Creek library on Tuesday, January 29 from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. for “Community Connections,” one of a series of parent meetings scheduled to take place in each of our schools.
These meetings are designed to encourage frank conversations about our shared vision for the future of our schools. I hope you can find time to attend; I look forward to hearing your feedback and ideas.
A video introduction can be seen on the website homepage at www.cbsd.org/communityconnections.
I hope to see you on January 29!
Stay Well,
John J. Kopicki, Ed.D.

Happy Friday Creekers!
Save the date: On Thursday, March 14th there will be an informational night for parents about Social Media and helping children engage in positive and valuable online interactions. The topics will include online safety, cyberbullying, and information about social media apps and online gaming. This event will be held at Jamison Elementary School from 6:30 - 8:00pm. Have a great weekend!
