A underground earthquake caused a tsunami 5300 miles from shore covered 100 miles of land. The tsunami was 6 feet high, all the world wide donated more than $14 billion. The tsunami carried a Boston ship inland called the Thomas new land known before a the Charon. There was a 7.2 magnitude earthquake damaged the Santa Barbara the main damage was at the Lompoc valley December 21, 1812. The soldiers of presidio where so disturbed by the earthquake they abandoned presidio. Strong earthquakes began rocking the region through February 1813.
