OCE Curriculum Nights
Based on feedback from the parent survey, OCE is bringing a series of Family Academy curriculum night presentations to parents. Mark your calendars for two upcoming presentations at OCE:
- February 20, 2019, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. – Building Socio-Emotional Skills in Your Elementary School Child. In this workshop parents will learn how to attend to the socio-emotional development of their child while also setting appropriate limits and following through on consequences.
- March 13, 2019 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. – Reading is Fundamental! (K-5) Reading is fundamental to function in today’s society and in developing a good self-image. One of the most effective approaches to help a child develop literacy skills is having a home environment that encourages reading in daily life. Parents will learn how to support the development of their child’s literacy at home.

ALL HANDS ON DECK
PTA Advocacy Chair
The advocacy chair participates in once a month, county wide meetings with the other advocacy chairs, which are in person or call-in teleconference. The chair then reports back to the PTA and sends pertinent announcements to the newsletter about important legislation or events. They also can assist with programs at our school to help underserved students or those in need of assistance due to circumstances at home. The advocacy position can have multiple people on it if necessary.
If you are interested in learning more, please contact oce.pta@gmail.com.
Front Office Needs: Clothing
Did you know that our front office will lend your child a pair of pants or a sweatshirt or whatever they might need after an art room or muddy playground accident at school? No one wants to spend the rest of the day sitting in muddy pants while trying to concentrate on parallelograms! YUCK!
Thank you for your continued generosity and support!
