Carol Rae Ranch Elementary
Principal's Corner
Dear Coyote Families,
The football season is over- the Superbowl's a wrap ! It’s the end of many practices, games, and some hard-won battles on the football field. The Superbowl has a lot in common with school. Both require strategic planning and practicing. Both have players, coaches, analyzers, and strategists that work to create a successful and winning year. Our sideline supports are also integral to the success of our year-long game plan. In school we too, have special-teams coaches that do a fantastic job helping students. Sometimes a player gets sidetracked, some games are harder, but with all eyes on the final goal, great coaching, and an analysis of what is needed, we get our students to their year-end goals.
At school, the “end” happens at different times, not just once per year. One “end” happens after each new topic is learned. Other “ends” occur after each class period and each quarter when teachers reflect on how your student is progressing and to make adjustments to their playbook. An important “end” is when we finally get to show what we know on our State and District assessments. Regardless of the “end” point, we are encouraging/expecting our students to grow in their knowledge, understanding, and in their team camaraderie/support for others.
I hope you enjoyed the game, the food, and the commercials this weekend. Our season continues with goals to achieve and challenges to tackle. I thank you for being part of our booster club and for being co-coaches. Carol Rae Ranch Elementary has a dedicated team of Coyote players, staff, and fans. Go Team CRRE!
Educationally Yours,
Thea Hansen
Cell Phones & Smartwatches Reminder
If a parent chooses, students may bring personal devices such as cellphones, smartwatches, tablets, and laptops. All items are to be turned off and placed in a backpack before arriving at school. These items may not be used at school unless directed by a teacher for educational purposes. Students that do not follow the “off and in back-pack” rule will have their phone/device confiscated. Upon a second violation, the parent must come to school to pick up the confiscated item. Repeated infractions will result in loss of privilege to bring the device to school.
Open Enrollment Reminder
Students currently accepted for open enrollment do not need to fill out a new form to remain at their current school. If your student will be changing schools which includes moving up to the junior high and selecting a school they are not boundaried for, please complete an online application for your new school of choice.
Parents will be notified in May if their student will not be approved due to capacity, attendance, student misconduct, or academic effort.
