Hosp Headlines
Every Student, Every Day
Friday, January 8
New sessions of our after-school enrichment programs are starting soon. If you've enrolled (or re-enrolled) your student in a class, be sure to notify the front office at the Hosp email (as you do with any dismissal change) by Noon on the 1st day of class.
Each company provides the office with a class roster on the 1st day, but there could be an error or in most cases late enrollments are not included, so staff is not aware of the change and would send your student home their normal way. It is always safest to hear directly from the parent that your student has been enrolled.
If you would like more information on what classes are offered at Hosp this year, please see details below.

New Sign & Cones at AM Car Drop Off
In our continued effort to improve the car line in the morning, please note the new sign and cones along the back driveway indicating "When you get to a cone, get out on your own".
Students do not need to wait for someone to open their door. As long as the line of cars is stopped and you have reached the cones, your student(s) should exit curbside and walk along the sidewalk to the Pod 3 doors.
This should greatly improve the time to get through the car line, as well as reduce tardies. We still recommend leaving 10 minutes earlier during the winter months since fewer students walk to school this time of year.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and patience!
Lost & Found to be Donated on Monday
Parents can sign-in to look for items during the following times:
- Before school until 7:50am, or
- During a lunch visit, or
- After school until 3:20pm.
The Lost & Found is located in front of Pod 3 (hallway before Kinder & 1st grade) which means our students walk by the Lost & Found twice every day they have recess on the playground. Staff also gives frequent reminders to students for the 2 weeks leading up to any donation day.
Lastly, we encourage that students make sure they pick up their item and not someone else's who has a similar looking item - it's best to mark all items with names to help avoid any confusion.

Frisco ISD Hoverboard Policy
Please be advised that Frisco ISD will not be allowing Hoverboards on Frisco ISD property. Documented fires have occurred in the use of these devices while charging, as well as during use. Other organizations have also banned their use/presence due to fire risk, including many airlines.
If students bring a Hoverboard to campus, the parent will be contacted to pick up the device, as it cannot remain on campus due to the possible risk. This includes all makes and models of Hoverboards. As always, the safety of students and staff is our top priority. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Rezoning Letter from Frisco ISD
Dear Current Phillips Creek Ranch Families in Grades K-4:
At the December regular meeting of the Board of Trustees, members finalized the zone for the new Vaughn Elementary (located at 3535 Guinn Gate Drive, which is scheduled to open in the 2016-2017 school year).
It was also determined that, in order to move the least number of students at this time, current students (and their younger siblings) in planning units 38A, 38C, 38L, and 38K (Phillips Creek Ranch and Frisco Lakes) who currently attend Hosp will continue to attend Hosp until the Phillips Creek Ranch area elementary school is built.
Students who move into this area after January 1, 2016, or begin school after January 1, 2016 and do not have an older sibling attending Hosp will attend Nichols Elementary School. This is reflected by the area that shows green stripes – on the map we post on the website this area will all be in orange.
Because Nichols should have ample space with the rezoning of all of Pearson Farms to Vaughn, the new campus in PCR could possibly open a year later than previously thought – 2018 instead of 2017, although the District will continue to monitor and prepare.
These elementary zone changes do not impact the current middle school or high school zones for students.
Sincerely, FISD Demographic Team
