College-related events scheduled
* FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Help Night - Ideal for high school seniors, Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. in computer labs C-313 and C-315 at Shakopee High School. Parents should bring their tax information. Completed tax returns would also be good to bring, if available. Parents and students can ask questions and receive the help they need.
For more information, e-mail Linda O'Connell at the high school's college and career center at loconnel@shakopee.k12.mn.us.
* College Fair = March 9 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Shakopee High School = AVID students at East and West who sign up to attend this event will take the activity bus to the high school where they will be met by AVID teachers and participating AVID 10th graders. They will then be free to walk around the cafeteria/commons area and talk to representatives from approximately 100 colleges and universities. They can take the activity bus home at 4:30 p.m. or be picked up by a parent/guardian or family member. Students must check-in with the AVID teachers before leaving the high school. This is not a mandatory event for AVID students. It is optional. More information will be provided to students and families soon.
