Academic SMART Goal

S - I want to rise a over all average to an 80% by the end of grade 12

M - To keep tracks of my marks I will ask for an updates every two weeks. If I can't get an update I will look at previous marks to see my progress. I then will calculate my all round average for the semester to keep on track.

A - I will take my time finishing projects as well as practice for any presentation, which is one of my strengths, because memorization is good as teachers expect lots of eye contact during a presentation. I will study more for test and stop procrastinating when doing my homework, which are a few of my weaknesses. I plan to study 2 hours every day, a week before a test. I want to also stop procrastinating when doing my homework instead I will do bits of the work every day so I can finish it before the deadline.

R - I know I can achieve this goal with hard work. The goal is important because I am planning to getting into university and I feel that boosting my average to 80% or above can be the different between getting into university or college and if I have a low average now in the future it will be even more difficult to graduate university or even get into a university.

T - I want to do this by the end of grade 11 and keep my average at 80% or above to the end of grade 12. To make sure sure am progressing I want to get at least a 75% on all test and assignments.

Volunteering SMART Goal

S - I want to get 500 hours by the end of my high school career

M - I will have a calendar for marking the amount of hours i get in one day. Every I will calculate the amount of hours I did for the week.

A -I will do volunteering with lots of hands-on work, which is my strength to keep my interest in the volunteering and avoid lots of paper work, which is my weaknesses .I'm not the best at writing anything but I have fun doing hands on work even if it is a challenge. I will schedule my volunteer day and try to put in at least 2 hours of volunteering each week.

R - I think this is possible because in grade 9 in got 95 hours in one month. I did that much volunteering because I enjoyed volunteering cause of that I feel if I can find some where to volunteer that I enjoyed I can finish this before the end of grade 12. This is also important because Universities look at how many hours you have completed when choosing who to put in the school.

T - I want to finish this by the end of grade 12 to make sure i'm progressing I will have a calendar.

Challenges & Solutions

Health risks

Being a programmer can lead to health issue from be on a computer all day typing codes and with the long hour and over times some can spend up to half a day just typing away some codes on a keyboard. “can lead to musculoskeletal pain and disorders as well as eyestrain(work.chron.com)” as said this are some of the health risks faced when being a programmer. The best solution for this problem would be exercise daily and eat healthy. This will help with muscle pain and lack of exercise by get on a diet. Solving the problem about eyestrain would be to adjust the setting on your computer to minimize the strain on your eyes when coding(www.allaboutvision.com).

Long Hours

Programmer tend to work long hour with sometimes going without sleep. Programmers work an average of 40 hours a week and if there is a dead line can become 80 hour of work for weeks or sometimes even months depending on the dead line. This is a problem because it will leave short amounts of personal time to the worker. A good way to solve this problem is to plan out your work and personal time.by plan out your work and personal life will help with stress as you will be making time for your family with out stressing about work. Another good tip would be don't bring work, home as it will make you feel less stress.

Compiler error messages

Programming is a difficult task that involves lots of coding, debugging and testing.when starting programming one difficult that most programmers face are compiler error messages. This can be caused by a single misclick and end with error message(s). It is said that “ Compiler errors are notoriously cryptic and verbose, and by no means were written with newbies in mind (cprogramming.com).” A good tips to solves this problem would be to read to error one by one starting with the first one. Another good tip would be that the line that indicates the problem just tell the last possible place for the error to be it can be located before the line(cprogramming.com). Coding is something that becomes easier after time.
