HYDRO ELECTRICITY!!!
A renewable energy source
RENEWABLE ENERGY!
Renewable energy is generally defined as energy that comes which are naturally replenished on your human timescale such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, waves and geothermal heat.renewable energy replaces conventional fuels in four distinct areas:electricity generation, hot water/space heating, motor fuels, and rural (off grid) energy services
Hydro electricity
Hydro energy is energy that is taken from the water and converted into electricity. Hydro energy can be obtained by using many methods of capture, for example, power can be generated from the energy of tidal forces or wave power, which uses energy created by waves. The first hydro electric hydro plant was built at Niagara Falls in 1879! A typical hydro plant is a system with three steps, first there an electric plant where the electricity is produced, second there's a dam that can be opened and closed to form water flow, third there's water behind the dam that flows through and it will intake and then pushes against blades in a turbine, causing the turbine to turn.
Advantages and disadvantages
Advantages: the advantages are we will have unlimited water, so we will have electricity for a long time. Hydro electricity does not use a lot of water, but all the water is retenrned to its source of orgin. Hydro electric power can be created 24/7 indefinitely assuming that the body of water, mit is utilizing and never runs dry. It is also another absolutely clean source of energy. The power plants, one in place, they do not create any waste byproducts in their conversation. Dams can also shut their gates and conserve the water for us when power is in higher demand. Disadvantages: like all power plants, hydro plants are alot of money to build, and must be built to a very high standard. The high cost means that power plants must operate for a long time to become profitable. The creation of dams can Also create flooding of land, which means natural environment and the natural habitat of animals, and even people homes will be destroyed. The building of dams for hydro electric power can also cause a lot of water access problems. The creation of a dam in one location may mean that those down rivers have no control of water flow. This can create controversy in places where neighboring countries share a water supply.
