North Pointe News

Thankful for you!
When I consider the many blessings in my life, the North Pointe community is such a big piece of my heart. The staff, students, and parents are truly an amazing group of people to work with each and every day. Thank you for allowing us to do what we love and placing our children at the center of every decision we make.
We have so many fun things planned in the coming weeks!
Kindergarten and 4th Grade BUZZ Meetings
We hope you can attend!
We are looking forward to our last 2 BUZZ meetings for parents this week! We are providing breakfast items and coffee for you! Teachers have been working hard to prepare information they feel will benefit parents as we continue our year together. We begin at 8:30 in the cafeteria on the following days.
Kindergarten's meeting will be held on 11/27.
4th grade's meeting will be held on 11/28.
Missing anything?
Our Lost and Found is overflowing! We do not have space to store these items. Please check the shelving unit outside the cafeteria if your child is missing anything. All items not picked up before Christmas Break will be donated to Goodwill.
Good News Club
Good News Club will run on Wednesdays beginning Jan. 9 through April 10. Register online at http://www.cefgreenville.com. Parents must be able to pick up their children by 4:00.
For more information about Good News Club check us out on our website or call or text Donna Rogers @ 864-367-2515. Registration will be limited, so sign up as soon as possible.
Battle of the Books: 3rd - 5th Grade Students
Technology Updates
Did you know that our first and second graders received brand NEW touch screen, 2 in 1 tablet/Chromebooks last week?
As the district has expanded this initiative down to Kindergarten, we will now be allowing K-2 students to take home their devices for eLearning days ONLY when we know of the eLearning day in advance. For now, this will not be a daily take-home policy as we have in grades 3-5. K-2 teachers will plan activities in the coming months to prepare students for at-home learning, only for the days we are out for inclement weather.
More info will be coming home about this in the coming weeks.
Internet Safety
Anderson District Five is federally required to provide protection and filtering for the device your student uses at school. The District also chooses to offer these same firewalls (protection) for your child's Chromebook at home or wherever they use their device.
You should notice a stricter filter placed on the You Tube application on your child's device. This means your child should NOT be able to access inappropriate lyrics and content on You Tube.
Student devices are monitored 100% of the time and should any student find info or use the device in an inappropriate manner, I am notified by email immediately and share this info with your child's teacher. We are using strict enforcement of our Chromebook Use Policy at school.
Please email me or your child's teacher with any questions or concerns you may have about this information.
I have linked the Anderson Five 1:1 Student Parent Handbook below for your reference.
Do you have photos you'd like to share for our school's yearbook?
You can email our Yearbook Coordinator, Courtney Little at the email below, to share photos you would like to be considered for our yearbook!
