Final Exam Reminder and Study Tips
- Start Early
- Spend the most time studying your hardest class
- Form a study group
- Study Actively, not passively: Use flash cards, create mnemonic devices, try Quizlet
- Make sleep a priority
Additionally, please do not schedule appointments during Final Exams. We try to not disrupt the learning and testing environment that week, so there will be limited opportunities for us to pull a student out of a classroom. If you previously have an appointment scheduled, please notify us well in advance if you need your student during the finals week.

Work Permits- No Longer Managed by High Schools
Effective July 1, Indiana has eliminated work permits completely, and now requires all employers with five or more minor employees (under age 18) to begin using the Indiana Department of Labor’s Youth Employment System (YES) to track and report minor-employee information.
YES is simple and easy to use. Employers can access the app via their smart device, such as your smartphone or tablet, as well as their desktop or laptop. Once they’ve set up their employer profile, they can enter your minor data – name, age and hire date – within minutes.
The new system will not impact the state’s work-hour requirement for minors, and all employers must still comply with the Teens Work Hour restrictions and Prohibited and Hazardous.

Driver's Education
Mr. Douglas and Mrs. Mehrtens do NOT enroll students in these courses. If interested, families will need to follow information provided in the link.
World Language (French, German, Spanish)
When deciding whether or not your teen needs a world language, it's important to know that some colleges (IU and Purdue for example) require world language credits for admission. It's important to do your research to avoid disappointment senior year.

Calling out attendance
When a student is leaving early for an appointment, please call the team office as early in the day as possible to let us know. We will send a pass to the student's class to release him/her.
The student will sign out in the team office and then be allowed to leave the building. Only a guardian may call to release a student from school, but may have anyone pick him/her up. Parents do not have to come in to sign the student out; the students will sign themselves out.
