Visible Light

What is Visible Light?
"Visible light waves are the only electromagnetic waves we can see. We see these waves as the colors of the rainbow. Each color has a different wavelength. Red has the longest wavelength and violet has the shortest wavelength. When all the waves are seen together, they make white light." -http://science.hq.nasa.gov/kids/imagers/ems/visible.html
How did Isaac Newton discover visible light?
"Issaac Newton discovered light by having a thin beam of light hit a glass prism. It created red orange yellow green blue indigo and violate colors. This happens because all the colors travel at different speeds and refract at different angles." -www.sciencekids.co.nz/science facts/light.hdml
Fun facts/Pictures
Isaac Newton
In the 17th Century, Issac Newton discovered "Visible Light." Issac Newton was also the first to use the word spectrum (Latin for appearance or apparition.)

How visible light happens
Red has the shortest, while purple has the longest.
Can it harm you? To much visible light from the sun can cause skin cancer
How do we use energy in the visible light spectrum?
The energy in visible light is, heat and EM radiation. These waves are made up of vibrations and electric and magnetic fields which make up the EM radiation series.
