WatchDOGS
* For information about how to join our WatchDOGS team of father-figure volunteers, click here.
Halloween at Edison
*Parties- Classrooms will be planning for Halloween festivities individually, either before or after the parade. All parents attending classroom parties must have an approved background check on file.
*Costumes- Students should come to school in costume on Halloween. They can stay in costume for the duration of the day, or can bring something to change into. Costumes need to be school appropriate and cannot depict violence or excess blood/gore. No fake weapons are allowed in school (i.e. toy guns, swords, blades, etc). Masks can be worn for the parade, but not throughout the day. For costumes that have short skirts, leggings or pants need to be worn underneath.
This Week
Thursday, October 31st- Halloween Parade- 10:00AM
Thursday, October 31st- Early Release Day; 1:30 Dismissal; Lunch served and Latchkey available.
Looking Ahead
Tuesday, November 5- No School
Thursday, November 7- PTO Meeting 6:30PM
Reminders
* School Hours- 8:35-3:30
* Attendance: 586-439-6590
*Birthday treats- Must be non-edible trinkets or individually, pre-packaged treats for students to take home (i.e. Playdough, Stickers or Skittles, Twinkies, etc).
* At dismissal time each day, K-2 walkers must be picked up at their door by a parent, designated adult, or older sibling. K-2 students will not be released to locate their families independently.
* When students are being picked up early, we can't call them down until the parent arrives to get them- so plan ahead for that turn-around time.
* Please try to solidify your child's dismissal plan before your child comes to school. This will help minimize the amount of last-minute dismissal changes, which leave room for error and can be disruptive to classrooms.
* If you "drop and go" at arrival time, please drop your child off right along the curb- for their own safety. If you drop them off in the thru-traffic lane, the traffic in the curb lane poses danger to them!
* 2 Absences Per Month = Less Likely To Graduate; Strive for Less Than 5 Absences Per Year
