Gaming & Coding

New Class at JHS - September 2015

Seriously, there's a gaming class at JHS? Tell me more.
The class will be a full-year course that covers various aspects of the gaming industry at a basic level. Also coding and programming will be explored at the basic level. You do not need any experience with games or coding, but you need to be willing to learn new skills and be prepared to play games. That's right, play games for class - it's a requirement!!
See Course Features below for some of the topics that will be covered.

Who's Teaching this cool sounding class?
Mr. Thomarie will be the instructor. If you want to speak to him about the class go say hello in the Library and ask any questions.

So, Why should I take this class?
Because you have an interest in video games, coding, computer science, or just are looking for something a little different to stretch your mind.

Can anyone take the class?
Almost. Anyone in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in the 2015-2016 school year can take the class.

Will the class be hard?
The class will be challenging. You will have to think. You will have to develop new skills and might find yourself outside of your comfort zone, but that's part of the reason for doing it - for the challenge.

Cool, How to I sign up?
First of all, come to the Interest Meeting on Friday 9th January in the Lecture Hall at 10:50 (during Enrichment).
After that just go tell your Guidance Counselor that you want to sign up.
