If it weren't for a few key court cases and people pushing for segregation to end in the Air Force the Tuskegee Airman might not have even existed. this is proven in “In 1939, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) took aim at the military’s segregationist policies. Negro newspapers and civic groups around the country began a public campaign to integrate the armed forces.”("Tuskegee Airmen") The Tuskegee Airman where the first of there kind which is one of the things that made them so popular.
