LCMS Weekly Updates

By Tami Gunset

I hope that you have had a great week. I want to thank all the parents who helped at the Homecoming Dance on Friday night. I think the students had a great time and your help was greatly appreciated. Please know that there are many opportunities to get involved as we are often short on help at the LCMS sporting events concession stand, so please get involved! I have big plans for raising money to put seating in the courtyard area and to sponsor student end-of-year field trips. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Congratulations to the following students on being selected as this month's Pirates of the Month. Each month, LCMS staff choose student Pirates of the Month. Run to the Capitol

Help the Lubbock-Cooper Middle School students who are raising funds for their trip to Washington D.C. and New York City this summer by Running to the Capitol!

Join us on the Lubbock-Cooper Middle School football field on October 24 for a morning of exercise and fun.

The run begins at 9:00am and will feature a competitive 5K with awards in many age categories.

Less experienced runners can also participate in a shorter 1K fun run. This is great for families with kids or with people who want to support the run but can’t make the 5K distance. Prizes will be given for this race as well.

Halloween for Hunger October 25

LCHS Organizations will host their annual canned food drive, Halloween for Hunger, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on October 25. Students will go door-to-door in selected neighborhoods (listed below) to "trick or treat" for non-perishable food items. If you live in one of the selected areas and wish to participate but will not be home on October 25, you may leave your donation on your front porch for students to pick up. LCHS will also host a week-long food drive October 19-23 if you would prefer to drop donations off in the campus office. All proceeds will benefit South Plains Food Bank.
